First holiday, lasting memories

Created by C J 3 years ago

My funniest memory was when Ged and I went to Sennen Cove, Cornwall with Aunty Cath, Uncle Jim and the little Girls.

Remember in those days, you could not afford to dispose of garments at a whim as we had no Primark. You could not afford a lot then and items were not cheap like today.

After a brilliant day on the beach with fantastic weather, having no factor 50 then. Jim wore his stylish new shorts to sunbathe in.

Jim became very attached to his shorts or at least they became very attached to him for the next couple of days.

Why? you ask, well his sunburn was so profound that his legs swelled below his shorts line, so he could not remove them.

One morning we were awoken to hearing an almighty victory cheer and lots of laughter, Cathy shouting "there off at last" Such a proud announcement.

Jim was so determined to get his shorts back in one piece.  It makes me giggle every time I think of the scenario.

But I also remember a very lovely gentleman , a cheeky grin and my nickname from him.

Jim, I hope you are at your happy place on the med, with plenty of suncream.

Lots of love Col, Ged and familyxxxxx
