Some of my best memories were when my mother (his sister) would announce “uncle Jimmy is visiting” and we would all have to congregate in my Grancha’s house to see uncle Jimmy, aunty Cath, Carman and Sarah, ‘my cousins from England’.  It was a proper big deal for us growing up and I’d be telling everyone!  We would have to dress up posh (well as posh as you can in the South Wales valleys) for the visit and it would often include going out in the cars somewhere nice.  In my eyes uncle Jimmy was one of the ones who was an inspiration and always had wise words.. a big guy, a big character and a big heart!
